Quality Assurance ⬇️

In a globalized and rapidly changing higher education landscape, QA has become essential for …

Accreditation

With increasing demands for accountability and international recognition, accredited institutions signal their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Accreditation is increasingly becoming a strategic priority as it secures competitiveness, access to funding, and partnerships.

We support HEIs at every stage of the accreditation journey. Whether you’re seeking initial accreditation or preparing for re-accreditation, our experienced team offers tailored guidance to ensure your success:

Preparing for Accreditation

We help institutions understand the requirements, assess their current status, and develop a strategic roadmap to accreditation readiness.

Accreditation Documents

Our team assists in drafting, reviewing, and refining all necessary documentation – ensuring clarity, coherence, and compliance with accrediting bodies’ standards.

Accompanying the Process

From site visits to final evaluations, from the fulfillment of requirements to the notification of significant changes – we provide hands-on support throughout the entire accreditation process, serving as a reliable partner and point of contact every step of the way.

Process optimization & innovation

Higher education is a slow process, degree programs of 2-3 years the regular case. Similarly, HEIs tend to evolve into large entities with complicated processes, hierarchies, and organizational bodies, slowly reacting to the requirements of a highly dynamic market.

We offer evaluations of your processes, pointing out more agile and lean approaches to processes that may help you save time and resources while increasing your capability of reacting to new trends and economic demands.

Für systemakkreditierte Hochschulen (only available for German HEIs)

As higher education is becoming increasingly competitive …

Internationalization

Internationalization is much more than yet another MoU – it encompasses curriculum development, student and staff mobility, global research collaboration, and fostering intercultural competencies. It means actively living exchange, recruiting international students, and building long-term partnerships with common goals and joint projects.

We help you build a comprehensive internationalization strategy that integrates a global perspective into all aspects of teaching, research, and campus life to enhance quality, relevance, and impact.

Cooperations & partnerships

International university partnerships are one of the most promising starting point of promoting internationalization and attracting new students. Universities all over the world are entering the market to enable their students to continue their academic careers at postgraduate level and in lifelong learning and are looking for suitable partners.

At the same time, the shortage of skilled workers is one of the greatest challenges for Europe’s strong economies. Companies are desperately looking for suitable, competent candidates and talented individuals worldwide are seeking to enter the European labor market through educational opportunities.

We support you in identifying the right partners, developing cooperation models and positioning yourself in the best possible way on a global market.

Program & curriculum development

The development of trends and new content poses major challenges for higher education providers at all levels; study programs must be constantly revised in order to compete with flexible, shorter and cheaper continuing education offerings. Yet, how can new learning behaviors be translated into existing program structures and examination regulations? How do new offerings remain compliant with legal requirements?

With our support, we will make sure to avoid any problems regarding recognition or accreditation and remain flexible in the content design of your courses.

Lifelong learning & continuing education

Changing demands on the labor market are requiring HEIs to flexibly adapt their offerings. Lifelong learning and continuing education have gained increasing importance due to rapid technological advancements, the changing nature of work, and longer career spans. Formal university degrees are gradually becoming less important, as skills and competencies can be taught more quickly – and often more cost-effectively – in shorter upskilling programs.  Meanwhile, HEIs are no longer viewed solely as gateways for young students but as partners for learners at every stage of life. Moreover, flexible learning formats like online courses or hybrid models and short cycle programs such as micro-credentials have made continuing education more accessible, helping learners balance education with work and personal responsibilities.

We help you to (further) develop the right range of upskilling courses – with the right partners and for the right target groups. We also support you with all questions relating to the quality assurance of these offers.

European Standards and Guidelines

The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) are the foundation for quality assurance and QA processes, mechanism, and quality management systems and form the basis for the day-to-day work of HEIs, quality managers, agencies and other stakeholders in Europe and beyond.

Our Story

Sophie and Martin first met as consultants with ASIIN in 2018. In fact, on one of her first days, recently onboarded Sophie was requested to accompany Martin to a committee meeting, where on that day a variety of highly complex and critical accreditation cases were discussed with subject-specific experts. The meeting got heated… But instead of being scared away, the both of us entered an intensive discussion about the possibilites and restrictions of quality assurance legislation, the developments in Higher Education, and how global consultants might contribute to creative innovation that delivered what learners actually sought. It was the beginning not only of a lasting friendship but of an idea that quality development could be so much more than adhering to national regulations, pre-defined criteria and quality labels.

In our experience, which we henceforth continued to develop in leading positions of different organizations, Higher Education Institutes should never pursue to perfectly meet the standards and criteria; if they were truly innovative, they would conform with the rules as little as possible and as much as necessary!

Project work from Indonesia to Iceland, and from the South American to the African continent has shown us ever since that first day, that HEIs too often are innovators in chains, frightened by pending accreditations, scared by international benchmarks, intimidated by commercial risks. But at the same time we’ve also met inspiring people in any corner of the globe that enriched us with creative solutions, with radical approaches, with outstanding financial success. And these encounters have supported us in our vision, that Higher Education must be thought in new ways, must be looked at from different angles, must take in new approaches whenever and wherever possible. With our international perspective and experience, we want to spread ideas, and encourage HEIs to make their own visions of the learning of the future a reality.

Managing Director

Higher Education, its development and societal impact has always been at the center of my professional activities. Following a Master‘s degree in History and Spanish at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, I completed my Doctorate thesis on „Catholic Education in Restoration Ireland, 1660-1665“ while lecturing at universities Freiburg and Hamburg. In 2016 I joined the international quality development agency ASIIN, supporting universities and other education providers worldwide in their endeavours to ensure and improve their academic programs, achieve accreditations and define educational standards. ASIIN’s deep-rooted connection with subject-specific associations founded my conviction, that higher education must always be founded on outcome-orientation, practical applicability, and international benchmarking.

After years of consulting, advising, and commenting on the work of others, in 2022 I eventually decided to join Steinbeis University – Schools of Next Practices to help create and develop programs and educational entities on my own. Consecutive positions as Head of Quality Assurance, Director of Study Success Management, and Director of Business Development & Quality, have provided me with a comprehensive expertise on the functioning of Higher Education Insitutes, current trends in program development, requirements for international success, process optimization and digitalization, and – most importantly – the restrictions and possibilities when it comes to designing innovative educational solutions for tomorrow.
